Disney has moved beyond the original announcement stage and is now showing guests what Disneyland’s expanded Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge lineup will actually look like. In its updated official preview, Disney shared first-look images of Han Solo, Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, and hero art centered on Darth Vader ahead of the land’s timeline expansion on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
That matters because the earlier news was mostly about who was coming. These new images give fans a much clearer look at the costuming, where some of the characters will appear, and how Disneyland is packaging the original trilogy side of Batuu before the update officially begins.

Disney Is Now Showing the Look of the Original Trilogy Rollout
This is the part that makes the update feel real. Disney is no longer only naming the characters coming to Batuu, it is showing guests how that original trilogy rollout will look inside the land when the April 29 expansion begins.
The official Disney Parks Blog update now includes a clearer visual package for the characters tied to the original trilogy era. Han Solo appears in his familiar vest-and-holster look, Leia Organa is shown in a white outfit with a brown vest near the Millennium Falcon, and Luke Skywalker appears in black Jedi-style costuming.
That shift from announcement to imagery matters. Disneyland fans have been waiting to see whether these characters would feel like fully realized in-park additions or just a list of names attached to the April 29 launch, and the new image set answers that pretty clearly.

Where the Characters Fit Inside Galaxy’s Edge
The placement details are almost as useful as the photos themselves. Disney is not replacing the whole land with one new era, it is threading these original trilogy characters into specific parts of Batuu while leaving other corners of the story intact.
According to Disney, Leia Organa may be spotted near the Millennium Falcon, where she will recruit travelers and locals to help keep Luke safe. Han Solo will also linger around the Falcon and the area near Oga’s Cantina, while Luke Skywalker will roam the outpost in search of Force-related knowledge, lightsabers, and kyber crystal lore.
Darth Vader will come to Batuu with Imperial stormtroopers as part of his search for Luke. At the same time, Disney says Rey and the Resistance will continue operating from the Resistance Camp, which means Disneyland is not erasing the sequel-era story outright. Instead, the park is layering the Galactic Civil War and New Republic periods into the same land.

What Guests Should Know Before April 29
If you are visiting Disneyland soon, the biggest takeaway is simple. Starting Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Galaxy’s Edge will have more familiar original trilogy characters moving through the land, especially around the Millennium Falcon and Black Spire Outpost.
That means guests who have wanted more classic Star Wars faces in the land should finally start seeing them in a more visible way. Disney is also adding music from the films throughout the area, so the whole land should feel a little different once the update officially begins.
