As we creep ever-closer to the full house lineup, it seems that some fans’ hopes to see a Terrifier house this year has come true! Announced yesterday amongst the frenzy of Multi-Night Tickets dropping, Universal Orlando Resort has revealed another strong IP house to be featured at Halloween Horror Nights in the 2025 season. Terrifier, a horror franchise that started with the first Terrifier film in 2018, is known for its high level of gore and torture, making it a perfect fit for the slasher slot at this year’s HHN. Joining the previously announced Jason Universe house as this year’s gore-filled IPs, Terrifier gained traction in the horror community much more recently than the classic slasher IP of Jason Vorhees and the traditional (and complex) Friday the 13th.

“Avoid becoming the latest victim of Art the Clown inside a grisly haunted house that’s literally dripping with terror and gore.”

Since the original film’s release in 2016, two sequels have been released (in 2022 and 2024 respectively) that have further cemented the Terrifier franchise in the public eye. Horror fans have lauded this franchise for its intense and graphic nature, though the high levels of gore and torture may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Still, that didn’t stop Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights team from making the announcement across their social media:

The first film follows three unfortunate women being stalked and murdered in an old apartment building on Halloween Night, and the nightmarish murderer – Art the Clown – who fills their last moments with suffering. While it’s not currently clear if this house will follow the events of any one specific Terrifier Film or be a Best Of experience, the one thing we do know is that it will feature plenty of Art the Clown.

Art the Clown quickly became a horror icon both for his traditional “horror” appearance – a gritty, unpleasant clown decked out in black and white makeup with gnashing, rotting teeth – and for his tendency to actually clown around. While many traditional horror clowns tend to just be killers in makeup, Art actually commits to the bit and injects comedy into his killing spree with a killer performance as a mime, staying silent throughout the entirety of the film.

The addition of the Terrifier house (Featured in both Orlando and Hollywood!) marks the eighth official house announcement to come out of Universal Orlando Resort for this season; with two more IP houses expected in the near future, there’s still plenty of scares to look forward to!

Check back soon, as Theme Park Shark will continue to report on all the details released on this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event. In the meantime, check out Theme Park Shark on your favorite social media platform, like Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, and expect to see plenty of scares this season, as well as theme park news from Disney, Universal, and theme parks from all across the world!

Her favorite stories have always been about magic and far-off adventures, and growing up in Orlando, Florida allowed her to experience those adventures in real life. As an adult, she graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2023 with a degree in Literature while working in the Education Industry. Her inner child, however, still has a deep love for fairies, dragons, magic, and adventure. When not writing her next big adventure, she enjoys drawing, puzzle platformers, theme parks, and fast roller coasters.
