Mark your calendars: Frozen Ever After will reopen on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at EPCOT with brand-new Audio-Animatronics featuring physical faces instead of projected ones.
According to the Walt Disney World calendar, the popular Norway Pavilion attraction will return after closing on January 26 for the highly anticipated upgrade. The refurbishment brings technology from Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen to the original EPCOT version.
What’s Changing
When Frozen Ever After debuted in 2016, it was groundbreaking for its time — featuring all-electric Audio-Animatronics with rear-projected faces for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff. While impressive at launch, the projected faces became a point of comparison when World of Frozen opened at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023 with stunning new articulated, physical faces.
Now EPCOT guests will experience the same upgrade. The new figures feature sculpted, physical faces that deliver “a more true-to-film look for these beloved characters,” according to Disney. The enhanced animatronics offer significantly more fluid movements and lifelike expressions than the original projected technology.
When to Ride
The reopening lands perfectly for Presidents’ Day weekend, giving guests a new reason to visit EPCOT during the holiday period. If you’re planning a visit next week, expect higher-than-usual wait times as guests rush to see the upgraded Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff in person.
Frozen Ever After remains one of EPCOT’s most popular attractions, and this upgrade only adds to its appeal. The ride takes guests on a boat tour through Arendelle, featuring scenes and songs from Disney’s beloved Frozen films.
