Butterbeer Season is returning to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal parks worldwide starting March 1, 2026, Universal Destinations & Experiences announced today.
The seasonal event runs March 1 through May 31 at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Beijing Resort. Universal Studios Japan joins in April 1 through May 17.
This year comes with a milestone: 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” the first film in the franchise.
What’s New for Butterbeer Season 2026
The headlining new item is the Butterbeer Waffle, available all day at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade (Universal Islands of Adventure) and the Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley (Universal Studios Florida). Universal Studios Hollywood’s Three Broomsticks gets it too.
Universal Orlando is adding additional limited-time sweets exclusively at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley:
- Butterbeer Cupcake — vanilla cake filled with Butterbeer-flavored caramel, topped with Butterbeer icing and a sugary Butterbeer logo (limited-time)
- Butterbeer Cookie Sandwich — two vanilla cookies with Butterbeer chunks, Butterbeer icing, a Butterbeer Bar on the sides and caramel drizzle (limited-time)
- Butterbeer Candy Apple — green apple dipped in Butterbeer caramel (year-round after season)
- Butterbeer Shortbread Bar — cookie sheet topped with Butterbeer caramel and a Butterbeer-chocolate drizzle (year-round after season)
Ministry of Magic Gets New Butterbeer Offerings
Universal Epic Universe’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic is also part of the celebration. Bièraubeurre (Butterbeer) Crème Brûlée will be available at Café L’air de la Siréne during the season. Butterbeer-flavored truffles and macarons debut at K. What’s at Each Park
Universal Studios Hollywood: The Butterbeer Cream Puff — filled with shortbread cookie butter, topped with Butterbeer cream and drizzled with Butterbeer sauce — returns after being a fan favorite last year. The Butterbeer Waffle also makes its Hollywood debut.
Universal Beijing Resort: A limited-time Butterbeer Cream Puff is available, along with new merchandise including a collectible Harry Potter 25 Years of Magic Butterbeer Stein.
Universal Studios Japan: For the first time, USJ guests will find a limited-time Butterbeer Cream Puff and Butterbeer-themed merchandise at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.

New Butterbeer Merchandise
A new lineup of Butterbeer-themed merchandise accompanies the food offerings, including a Spirit Jersey, t-shirt, and bucket hat. Guests can find the collection at retail locations throughout The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, and online at shopuniversal.com.
