Universal Kids Resort has released the second episode of its new mini-series giving families a closer look at what’s coming to the kid-focused theme park in Frisco, Texas.
The official @universalkidstx account shared the nearly two-minute video today, calling it a look at “the lands inside Universal Kids Resort, our first theme park made for kids.”
The video showcases several of the park’s seven themed lands in action, including glimpses of a tropical water play area, a Jurassic World baby raptor encounter experience, and a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed ride called Bobbing Barrels featuring a large Patrick Star figure.
Seven Lands Built for Kids
Universal Kids Resort features seven themed lands built around popular animated properties:
- Isle of Curiosity – The entrance area featuring Gabby’s Dollhouse
- Shrek’s Swamp – A DreamWorks-themed land
- Puss in Boots Del Mar – A DreamWorks-themed land
- Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club – An Illumination-themed area with a water ride
- Jurassic World Adventure Camp – Featuring a ropes course, drop rides, and the Cretaceous Coaster
- SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom – A Nickelodeon-themed land
- DreamWorks’ TrollsFest – A Trolls-themed land
The first episode of the mini-series debuted on January 23 and showed Texas families and other guests getting a preview of the park. This second episode goes deeper into the individual lands and the experiences inside them.
Opening in 2026
Universal Kids Resort is set to open in 2026 in Frisco, Texas, as part of Universal’s major expansion push this year. The park includes a 300-room hotel and is designed specifically for families with younger children, with rides, character meet-and-greets, interactive shows, and play areas built around properties like SpongeBob, Shrek, Minions, and Jurassic World.
