Disney has confirmed that the Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom will close to guests on May 16, 2026. The closure makes way for Jessie’s Roundup, a new Toy Story-themed live entertainment experience coming as part of Walt Disney World’s Cool Kids’ Summer celebration.
What Is Jessie’s Roundup?
Jessie’s Roundup will transform the Diamond Horseshoe into an interactive Toy Story experience. Disney describes it as a chance to “craft, dance and yodel your day away alongside Jessie, Woody and friends in this high-spirited Western revue.” The experience marks the first live stage show at the Diamond Horseshoe venue in over 20 years.
The show is part of Disney’s broader Cool Kids’ Summer program, which runs from May 26 through September 8, 2026. The Diamond Horseshoe is closing 10 days early on May 16 to allow for the conversion.
Cool Kids’ Summer Returns for 2026
Jessie’s Roundup is one of several kid-focused activations coming to Walt Disney World this summer. The Cool Kids’ Summer lineup also includes:
- GoofyCore at EPCOT – returning to CommuniCore Hall with DJ-driven dance music, plus activities like Goofy Says, Balloon Bonanza, and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks
- A new Disney Jr. live show at Hollywood Studios – a new-to-Walt Disney World show featuring Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto in the Walt Disney Studios area
- Bluey and Bingo at Animal Kingdom – the Australian duo will debut near the Wildlife Express Train station with themed games, a character meet, and Australian animal discovery
What Happens to Diamond Horseshoe Dining?
The Diamond Horseshoe has operated as a quick-service dining location in recent years, serving lunch items like pulled pork sandwiches and chicken strips. Guests planning to visit before the closure should note the May 16 date. Disney has indicated the restaurant is expected to return in its dining format after Cool Kids’ Summer ends in September.
The Diamond Horseshoe originally opened with Magic Kingdom in 1971 and hosted live entertainment for decades before transitioning to a dining-only venue. Jessie’s Roundup will bring live performances back to the space for the first time since the early 2000s.
