Just hours after Walt Disney World permanently closed DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom on Saturday, Universal Orlando Resort fired off what might be the best social media post of the year.

“Don’t worry. We have plenty of dinosaurs. 😉” the resort posted on Instagram, alongside photos of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster and other dinosaur-themed attractions at Islands of Adventure. The same message went out on X (formerly Twitter) with a photo of guests face-to-face with a massive dinosaur on the Jurassic World ride.

The timing was impeccable. Disney’s DINOSAUR ride, Restaurantosaurus, and the entire DinoLand U.S.A. area closed for good on February 1 after more than 26 years of operation. The land will be demolished to make way for a new Encanto-themed area and an Indiana Jones attraction.

Fans flooded the comments on Universal’s post, with many praising the resort’s social media team for the perfectly timed dig. It’s the kind of lighthearted rivalry between the two Orlando theme park giants that fans absolutely love to see.

Universal Orlando is home to some of the most popular dinosaur attractions in the world, including the record-breaking Jurassic World VelociCoaster and the classic Jurassic River Adventure at Islands of Adventure. Over at the brand-new Epic Universe, guests can also experience dinosaur encounters in new ways.

With DinoLand gone, Universal is now the undisputed king of dinosaurs in Orlando — and they clearly know it.
