Back to Hogwarts runs at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood from Saturday, August 1, 2026 through Tuesday, September 1, 2026. It’s included with regular theme park admission, so no extra ticket is required.
Hogsmeade marks the new school year for the full run, and the celebration comes with parks-exclusive merchandise, a limited-time cookie, free house stickers, and a new piece of entertainment built around one of Hagrid’s textbooks.
Free house stickers
The simplest thing to grab is also free. Team members at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods hand out complimentary Hogwarts house stickers throughout the event.
Universal attaches fine print to those: one per guest, first come first served, while supplies last, and no rainchecks. Pick yours up early in the day rather than saving it for the walk out.
The Hogwarts House Linzer Cookie
The headline treat is the Hogwarts House Linzer Cookie, a soft almond cookie filled with jam. It comes in four flavors: raspberry, sour apple, blueberry, and lemon curd. Each one is decorated for a different Hogwarts house.
The Gryffindor cookie is offered for the entire event. The other three houses run on a rotation.
Pair it with a Butterbeer, the non-alcoholic Hogsmeade staple Universal describes as reminiscent of shortbread.
Build-A-Bag with Lug
The biggest new merchandise item is a Build-A-Bag product and experience with Lug. You start by picking a base bag, and the selection runs from smaller crossbody bags up to larger purses.
From there it’s yours to build. Add a custom strap, a coin purse, bag charms, and a zipper puller in the house of your choice, or mix and match houses. The bags also include a holder for a wand.
House robes and house merch at Gladrags
Gladrags Wizardwear carries the Hogwarts house robes, along with house-specific beanies, scarves, and jumpers. Universal’s own tip is worth repeating: Hogsmeade gets chilly, so the layers do real work.
Shoulder pals at Owl Post
Owl Post is where you bring your own owl along. The shop has shoulder pals, companions made to sit by your side for the day.
The Monster Book of Monsters
On select dates, Back to Hogwarts adds a brand new piece of entertainment: a Monster Book of Monsters encounter. The book belonged to Rubeus Hagrid, and it has transformed into the very monster shown on its pages. Get close and it will try to bite your finger.
Hagrid’s trick still works. Pet the spine of the book and it lets you in.
What else is open
The regular Hogsmeade lineup runs right alongside the event. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff both operate as usual, and you can still stop by Ollivanders Wand Shop to meet the wand keeper and see how the wand chooses the wizard or witch.
Two planning notes before you go. If Gryffindor isn’t your house, the cookie rotation means your flavor might not be out on the day you visit. The stickers run on the same kind of luck, since it’s one per guest while supplies last.
