Fast & Furious – Supercharged at Universal Studios Florida will permanently close sooner than previously announced. The attraction’s final day of operation will be Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Universal Orlando confirmed the date through its official guest services account on Wednesday, July 15. The attraction will be closed effective Monday, August 17.
Universal moves the closure into 2026
The new date moves the attraction’s permanent closure into 2026. When Universal Orlando announced Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift for Universal Studios Florida in January, the company said Fast & Furious – Supercharged would close permanently in 2027.
Universal did not give a specific reason for the accelerated timeline. In its July 15 response, the resort said it routinely evaluates attraction closure dates and makes adjustments as needed.
That gives guests about one month to experience the attraction before its final day. Park operating hours and attraction availability can still change, so anyone planning a final ride should check Universal Orlando’s official app during the visit.
The August date is the first specific final operating day Universal has provided for the Florida attraction. Universal’s January announcement established the broader 2027 closure plan, but said more information would be shared later. The July 15 confirmation replaces that general timeline with a firm final day.
What is replacing Fast & Furious – Supercharged?
Universal has not announced what will replace the Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction or how its existing building will be used after the closure.
A separate Fast & Furious attraction is already under construction elsewhere in Universal Studios Florida. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is scheduled to open in 2027 on the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit site near the park’s front entrance.
The new attraction is a high-speed outdoor roller coaster. Universal says it will feature 360-degree ride vehicle rotation and a 170-foot vertical spike. The company describes the experience as a street race that sends riders drifting through maneuvers inspired by the film franchise.
The Orlando coaster follows the development of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood. Universal has said the Hollywood version will open in summer 2026.
One month remains for a final ride
Fast & Furious – Supercharged opened at Universal Studios Florida in 2018. The attraction takes guests through a garage and party setup before boarding a ride vehicle for a screen-based chase alongside characters from the Fast & Furious films.
Guests considering one final visit can follow the attraction’s current operating patterns through Theme Park Shark’s Fast & Furious – Supercharged wait-time guide. The final scheduled operating day remains August 16, 2026.
