Six Flags Great America is turning Yukon Territory into Camp Timber Trail, a woodsy family land opening in 2027 with nine attractions. Three of them are brand new, four are existing rides getting new names and theming, and two are park classics staying put. The headliner is Sky Hawk, which the park calls the Midwest’s longest, tallest and fastest suspended family coaster.
Sky Hawk sends riders through the treetops with views of the woodland landscape below. The other two new attractions are Trail Trotters, an animal trek built around exploration, and Forest Grove Play Park, an outdoor play area where kids can climb, discover and play in nature-inspired elements.
Which rides are being renamed?
Four returning rides get new identities inside the woodland story. Sprocket Rockets becomes Chirp Chaser, a bird-themed family coaster. Crazy Bus becomes Wilderness Wagon, and Yahoo River becomes Creek Cruiser. Buzzy Beez becomes Bee Boppin’, with new theming on the same ride generations of kids have grown up on.
Little Dipper and Logger’s Run stay in the area as-is.
The land will also have themed dining, specialty treats and shopping built around the same outdoor theme. Six Flags hasn’t announced an opening date within 2027, ride heights, or which restaurants are coming.
What else is changing at the park?
Camp Timber Trail is the first step in a multi-year transformation. Six Flags says guests can expect landscaping, walkway, amenity and facility work across the 300-acre property over the next three to five years.
“Since opening in 1976, Yukon Territory has been home to some of the park’s most cherished memories,” said John Krajnak, Park President of Six Flags Great America. “With Camp Timber Trail, we’re making a significant investment in family experiences, preserving the playful spirit that has defined this area for decades while introducing exciting new ways to explore and create traditions together.”
The 2027 Gold Pass starts at $85, which the park says is the lowest price it will offer this year or next. That pass covers unlimited visits to Six Flags Great America, admission to regional parks including Cedar Point and Kings Island, and the rest of the 2026 season, including Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS and Tricks and Treats.

If you’re buying a pass for a family that’s aging into bigger rides, the $85 Gold Pass gets you through Fright Fest this fall and into Camp Timber Trail’s first season. That’s two seasons on one price that Six Flags says won’t get lower before 2027.
