Disney’s BoardWalk is opening a bar inside an old theater on October 1, and the full Hurly-Burly menu is out. The space was home to the BoardWalk’s most celebrated vaudeville performers, and nearly a hundred years later it’s reopening with vintage drinks and lite bites. The menu runs all day.

Food comes in shareable plates built on classic boardwalk fare. The Meatballs in Tomato Gravy mix veal, pork, and beef with stracciatella, Pecorino Romano, and toasted focaccia, with a plant-based version available on request. Roast Beef Sliders, Oven-Roasted Shrimp, and Tomato Pie fill out the savory side. Dessert is Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce.
What’s on the Hurly-Burly drink menu?
Ten cocktails, nine wines, and a beer list that leans Atlantic Coast. The Mertini is a twist on a gin martini, made with Plymouth Navy Strength Gin and Dolin Dry Vermouth de Chambéry, and named as an ode to maritime melodrama at this theater. The Overproof Amaretto Sour uses Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style Bourbon. Beer picks include Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA and Allagash White.
Then there’s La Taquilla Picante, a spicy margarita with a spiced nutmeg rim, and the name translates to “The Hot Ticket.” Naming a tequila drink after the box office is the kind of detail I’d order twice for.
The zero-proof list is short and good. Overture in Orange is a frozen treat made with Minute Maid Orange Juice and topped with sweet cream. The Caramel Corn Cold Brew stacks Joffrey’s cold brew with caramel sweet cream and caramel popcorn. Cherry Marquee blends lemonade with Amarena cherries.
Select drinks are also poured at the Hurly-Burly walk-up window as you stroll Disney’s BoardWalk, including the Caramel Corn Old Fashioned, the Cherry-Vodka Limeade, and the Off-book Bramble. That list covers most of the cocktail menu, so a stroll along the water doesn’t mean skipping the good stuff.
When does Hurly-Burly open, and do you need a reservation?
Hurly-Burly opens October 1 at Disney’s BoardWalk. It’s walk-up only, so no reservations are required.
The room changes character during the day. Afternoons bring trivia and games designed for the whole family. At 9 p.m. it turns into live music for guests 21 and older.
Shark Take: If you’re bringing kids, go in the afternoon for the trivia and the doughnuts. If you want the live music, the 9 p.m. switch means the room is adults-only for the rest of the night, and the walk-up window is the workaround if you’d rather keep walking the BoardWalk.
