Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood Opens for 42 Nights After Sept. 3 Start

Halloween Horror Nights opened at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 3, 2026, according to a September 4, 2026, Universal Destinations & Experiences press release from Lindsay Kwek. UDX said the opening included a star-studded red carpet and that the seasonal event runs a record 42 nights from Thursday, September 3, through Sunday, November 1, 2026.

The press release lists continuing nights as September 4-6, 10-13, 17-20, 23-27, and 30; October 1-4, 7-11, 14-18, 21-25, and 28-31; and November 1, 2026. Tickets are on sale on the official Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood site.

Ticket products named in the release include General Admission, Early Access (entry to select haunted houses beginning at 5:30 p.m., subject to change), Frequent Fear Pass, Ultimate Fear Pass, and the returning Halloween Horror Nights Dining Pass. Day/Night, After 2 P.M. Day/Night, Universal Express, and R.I.P. Tour tickets include access to Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, UDX said.

Haunted houses

UDX named eight haunted houses for the Hollywood run:

• Sinners, based on the Warner Bros. Pictures Academy Award-winning film
• Stranger Things, based on the fifth season of Netflix’s series
• Hellraiser, inspired by the first three films
• Evil Dead Burn, based on the sixth film in New Line Cinema’s Evil Dead franchise
• Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, featuring the metal rock star’s legacy
• MGM’s Killer Klowns from Outer Space
• KILLceañera: Music by SLASH, an original house drawing on Latin American myths and legends, with an original score and exclusive song “15 Candles”
• Dead, Deader, Deadest, an original house set in an abandoned funeral home

Terror Tram, scare zones, and shows

Terror Tram returns with Art the Clown as host in “Terror Tram starring Art the Clown.” ICE NINE KILLS created new music for the experience, putting a dark twist on classic Christmas songs, the release said. The Purge: Dangerous Waters returns to the WaterWorld venue.

Scare zones named by UDX are Fortnitemares, Hackerz, El Circo de la Muerte, Blood Bog, and Murder of Crowz. Art the Clown also appears around the park, and guests may encounter Nikki from Focus Features and writer-director Curry Barker’s Obsession, the latest victim of the One Wish Willow’s curse, UDX said.

Select theme park attractions remain open during the event, including SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Transformers: The Ride-3D, Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride, and The Simpsons Ride. Death Eaters roam The Wizarding World of Harry Potter beginning in the early evening, UDX said.
