Disney is renovating the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and the company shared a first look inside the new design on June 15, 2026. The reimagined villas start debuting over the next few months, with the full renovation finishing later this year.
The Treehouse Villas are some of the more unusual rooms at Walt Disney World. They sit on stilts among the woodlands along the Sassagoula River, each one a three-bedroom space that sleeps up to nine guests. They have long been a favorite of Disney Vacation Club members who want privacy and quiet over a pool-deck location.
What is changing in the redesign?
The new look draws on New England craftsmanship and the Arts and Crafts movement. Disney says the refreshed interiors lean on a richer color palette and natural finishes like wood and stone, tying the playful treehouse setting to the more traditional style of the rest of Saratoga Springs.
Each villa keeps the practical features that make it work for a family or a larger group: a full kitchen, an in-room washer and dryer, and living and dining areas. Those rooms get all-new finishes, furniture, and fixtures. Private decks remain, giving guests an outdoor space surrounded by the trees. If you are weighing where to stay on points, this puts the Treehouse Villas back in the conversation, and it is worth reviewing the Disney World resort hotel perks tied to each resort tier.
Are there hidden Disney character details?
Yes, and this is the part fans will want to look for. Disney worked more than a dozen nature scenes and characters from its animated films and shorts into the rooms. The Fox and the Hound and Sleeping Beauty show up through wall murals and fine art paintings. Characters from Cinderella are carved into the furnishings and tucked high into the architecture above.
The smaller touches carry the same idea. Botanical and animal motifs inspired by classic characters appear across the textiles, from throw pillows to lampshades. It is the kind of layered theming that rewards a slow walk through the room, similar to how Disney hides detail across its other heavily themed resort hotels.
Dates, access, and what is still unknown
The rollout is gradual. Reimagined villas begin appearing over the next few months, and Disney says the renovation wraps later in 2026. The company did not give an exact completion date, a per-night rate, or a points chart change tied to the refresh. There was also no word on whether any villas close during the work.
The Treehouse Villas are bookable by Disney Vacation Club members and, when available, as regular resort rooms. If you have a trip planned and want one of these for the new design, it is worth checking availability early, since these rooms are limited and tend to move fast. Pair it with the resort’s location near Disney Springs, and check Disney World wait times before you lock in park days.
What to know: This is Disney’s official first look, so the interiors shown are Disney’s. Pricing and a firm finish date have not been announced. If a treehouse stay is on your list, the redesign is reason enough to watch booking windows over the back half of 2026.
