After the deluge of information about this upcoming haunt petered off about two weeks about, fans have been eager to see what properties would be making an appearance at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event. With six houses already announced – all of them originals created by Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights team, with some returning favorites like Slaughter Sinema 2 and Major Sweets: Candy Factory – fans were left wondering what iconic horror properties they would be able to scream through this year.
Early this afternoon, Universal Orlando Resort posted the first answer to this burning question across their social media, as they officially announced that A Quiet Place will be featured as a house this year at HHN 33.
Based on the hit John Krasinski horror film from 2018, A Quiet Place follows the story of the Abbott family, who are surviving in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by alien creatures, called Death Angels, determined to wipe out humanity.
Their only saving grace is that the Death Angels that have wiped out human life across the world are blind, using their acute sense of hearing to hunt down the surviving humans. The Abbotts must walk on eggshells to protect their family as they attempt to raise their children in this horrifying new world.
Achieving universal acclaim after its release in 2018, A Quiet Place’s plot of silence and stealth offers the possibility of a unique and thrilling psychological horror house that, much like the Dead Exposure houses, has the opportunity to use our own senses against us.
With this newest announcement having already been predicted on even the earliest version of the HHN 33 Speculation Map that made its way across social media earlier in the year, it’s no surprise that this thrilling and suspenseful film was the first lined up for announcement as Universal Orlando Resort prepares to unveil its remaining four houses for this year’s event lineup.
