Disney invited Theme Park Shark to an exclusive media preview today for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. TPS reporter Jay was on the scene and walked out with a first listen to two tracks from the new soundtrack, both covers by The Electric Mayhem.
The ride reopens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026, replacing Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which officially closed in early March.
How Jay Got To Listen
Disney handed each media member an MP3 player with headphones. Two tracks. Both clocked in at exactly 1:04.
Track 1: “Born To Be Wild”
Jay said the cover landed fast and felt reminiscent of the original. Very energetic. Disney confirmed this version of “Born To Be Wild” features The Electric Mayhem with Camilla the Chicken. Jay’s read: this might be one you really need to experience on the ride itself to feel it the way Imagineering is setting it up.
Track 2: “Song 2”
Animal-heavy, also 1:04, and in Jay’s opinion the more energetic of the two. He said listening to The Electric Mayhem’s cover of “Song 2” made him feel like he was already strapped in and on the coaster. The preview closed with a funny bit of commentary: “oops this was song 3.”
What Disney Parks Blog Confirmed
Per the official Disney Parks Blog post, more songs are still coming, leading up to a major announcement on April 16.
The ride’s new story: guests receive VIP passes to tour G-Force Records, a recording studio now under new Muppet management. The Electric Mayhem are rehearsing while Scooter tries to get them to their next concert across town. The audio engineers? All penguins.
Disney also confirmed the iconic guitar at the entrance gets a psychedelic new design. The piano motif base now features a golden key, a nod to Dr. Teeth.
The Queue Banners
Jay pointed out that the banners on display at the preview are headed straight into the ride’s queue. Each one features a different member of The Electric Mayhem.

G-Force Records Throws A Listening Party

Disney had drinks, posters, and media members admiring the new art across the room. Jay walked out with a Kermit plush, a bag, a poster, a rubber coaster, and a paper ticket. G-Force Records knows how to throw a listening party.
Thank you to Disney for inviting Theme Park Shark to the preview. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets reopens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Summer 2026.
