Disneyland just hit a number I never thought I’d type. On July 3, 2026, the resort welcomed its one billionth guest, and the moment went to an 8-year-old kid from Arizona.

His name is Andres Robles. He arrived that morning with his parents, Alejandra and Jose, expecting a normal day at the parks. He walked in as guest number one billion instead.
What Andres got for the milestone
Disney rolled out the kind of day most fans only dream about. Andres received a private VIP tour guide to lead his family around Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park.

The family toured Walt Disney’s private apartment. That space stays closed to almost everyone, so it’s a rare peek behind the ropes.
They also visited the newly opened Soarin’ Across America attraction. Andres capped the day with a special photo opportunity alongside Donald Duck and Daisy Duck.

Jill Estorino, President of Disneyland Resort, greeted the Robles family in person. That’s a nice touch for a kid who woke up thinking it was just another summer trip.

Why one billion guests actually matters
Disneyland opened in 1955 and introduced the modern theme park concept to the world. Every land, ride, and parade that followed traces back to that Anaheim original.
Reaching a billion combined guests across both Anaheim parks is a staggering count. It’s the kind of milestone that puts 71 years of memories into one clean number.

Think about that pace for a second. Generations of families have walked down Main Street since 1955, and Andres now represents all of them.
The timing lines up beautifully, too. The billionth guest arrived just days before the resort marks its 71st anniversary later in July 2026.
It also landed right on America’s Independence Day weekend. I covered the full Disney America 250 Fourth of July weekend celebration if you want the fireworks details.
Planning your own Disneyland summer visit
Summer crowds are real, but so are the deals. Disneyland’s $59 evening ticket for summer 2026 is one of the easier ways to get in the gate after work or dinner.

Once you’re inside, the heat calls for a game plan. My Disneyland cold treats and ice cream guide maps out where to cool off between rides.
Andres won’t forget July 3, 2026, and honestly neither will I. A billion guests is a lot of magic, and the number just keeps climbing.
